Shell Bay Weddings

Shell Bay Weddings has fantastic sea views overlooking Brownsea Island and where Poole Harbour meets the open sea. It really is where love meets the sea, and dreams are transformed into breathtaking realities. The exclusive beachfront venue provides the perfect backdrop for your special day, offering a truly memorable experience that will leave a lasting impression on you and your guests. Shell Bay is another of the ‘number one’ venues on the Isle of Purbeck and selected by many couples that have such a taste for their wedding venue.

They are licensed to perform civil ceremonies. It is one of those venues that whenever you pass by en-route to the Sandbanks Ferry, you can smell the most amazing food being prepared. As such, as a wedding venue they can cater from a formal three-course meal to an amazing BBQ should you prefer something more informal. But… as you can imagine with a name like Shell Bay, it is equally famous for it’s Seafood Restaurant where you can enjoy such foods as Lobster, Crab and locally sourced fresh fish. As we’ve mentioned the Sandbanks Ferry, the road can become very busy during July and August, so it is worth noting that they don’t undertake weddings during these busy two months in the Summer.

Whether your vision is for an intimate gathering on the sand or a grand celebration overlooking the ocean, the team at Shell Bay will work closely with you to bring your vision to life. In terms of Shell Bay’s location, it is is nestled literally right on the edge of the Isle  of Purbeck.

There are plenty of places to stay close by if you are attending Shell Bay Weddings. In one direction, you have Wareham, Corfe and Swanage with plenty of overnight accommodation such as Mortons Manor in Corfe itself or the Grand Hotel, The Pines in Swanage or The Bear or Priory Hotel in Wareham. If you’re looking for somewhere with a bit more going on, there’s plenty of hotels in Bournemouth, Poole and the famous Sandbanks area such as the Sandbanks Hotel itself. There is a large Travelodge in Poole within a short walking distance of the bustling Poole Quay.

For travelling to the venue, if you’re coming from the Swanage or Corfe direction, it is a very pleasurable short drive through Studland passing The National Trust’s Knoll Beach and head towards the Sandbanks Ferry with the venue on your left. If coming from the Poole or Sandbanks direction, you’re probably best using the Sandbanks Ferry, with the venue being about half a mile on your right. There is also a reasonably large National Trust car park a short walk away on the opposite side of the road.
